Last month, Jack Harlow released his new album Monica, which ventured into R&B. About it, he said, "I got Blacker," and received criticism from Cam'ron, Charlamagne Tha God, and other figures in the hip-hop community. Now, Jozzy says the rapper asked her not to take credit on one of their collaborations.
The singer-songwriter — who's best known for co-writing the Billy Ray Cyrus remix of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" — revealed the situation at a Red Bull Sessions event in Atlanta, GA on Apr. 2. Selective Ignorance podcaster Mandii B was there and asked a question that Jozzy answered with now-viral comments about Harlow captured by the podcast's videographer Yomi Arrese. Jozzy specifically mentioned the session was for 2022's Come Home The Kids Miss You.
She said that after the session, he sent her a long voice memo saying he didn't want anyone to know they were working together and that he "pretty much wanted me to be a ghostwriter." She said she never worked with him after that because she wanted credit.
In other Jack Harlow news, he went viral yesterday for his hat. More information is gradually being discovered about the strange hat. Watch the Selective Ignorance podcast episode about Jozzy below.
