LEGO Reveals The X-Files Set, Brings Back Gillian Anderson as Scully in New Ad: Watch

The truth is made of tiny, interlocking bricks, as LEGO has revealed its new kit based on The X-Files. What’s more, Gillian Anderson has reprised her iconic role as Agent Scully to promo the set.

A LEGO Ideas fan-designed model by Brent “WetWired” Waller which won the “Build Your Nostalgia – 90s Throwback!” challenge, set #21369 The X-Files will release on August 5th priced at $199.99. LEGO Insiders get first dibs on August 1st, and the set will only be available on LEGO.com or brick-and-mortar LEGO Stores.

Remarkably close to Waller’s original design, the set features Agent Mulder’s lab tucked under a forest landscape with a UFO hovering overhead. It also comes with an impressive eight minifigs, including Agents Mulder and Scully, Carl “The Cigarette Smoking Man” Busch, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, a gray alien, and even The Flukeman. Plus, those who order online between August 1st and 10th will receive a The X-Files: Scully’s Lab gift with purchase, featuring an exclusive lab-coat-and-scrubs version of Scully in her FBI National Academy laboratory.

Clearly excited to be recreated in minifig form, Anderson herself reprised her role as Agent Scully for the set’s ad. Speaking with Forbes, she called the LEGO set a career highlight, saying, “It’s way at the top, I’d have to say. Definitely. It was pretty cool when we ended up on a Mad Magazine cover. It was pretty cool when we ended up in a Simpsons episode — one of my favorites of all time. But I have to say that this is right up there with The Simpsons.”
