This marks Göransson’s third Oscar win, as he has previously taken home Oscars for Black Panther and Oppenheimer. Other nominees included Jerskin Fendrix for Bugonia, Alexandre Desplat for Frankenstein, Max Richter for Hamnet, and Jonny Greenwood for One Battle After Another.

Sinners holds a record-breaking sixteen Academy Award nominations, including Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Picture. Earlier in the night, Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq took to the stage to perform “I Lied To You” — which is also nominated for Best Original Song — and were joined by the likes of Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, and more, to recreate the film’s iconic juke joint performance.

Thank you.”
