Yesterday was the first anniversary of Addison Rae's "Headphones On," one of last year's best songs. The day before yesterday, Olivia Rodrigo released "drop dead," the lead single to her upcoming third album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. This all coincided with Weekend 2 of Coachella, a festival that's become notorious for surprise guest appearances. Rae and Rodrigo seized the opportunity to link up during the former's Coachella set yesterday, performing both of those aforementioned songs together.
As Rae was performing "Headphones On," the music cut out after she sang the line "I compare my life to the new It Girl." Rodrigo then appeared onstage, and the two finished up "Headphones On" before going into the live debut of "drop dead."
This isn't the first time Rodrigo has made a surprise drop-in at Coachella: Two years ago she joined the newly-reunited No Doubt for "Bathwater." Watch her and Rae perform together below.
