Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and prog-rock icons Rush have announced their long-awaited return to the stage for a special 2026 headline tour dubbed "Fifty Something." The run marks the band's first live performances in more than a decade — and their first without legendary drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020.

The tour will see founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson reunite to celebrate over fifty years of Rush's music, legacy, and Peart's indelible mark on the band and its fans. The trek kicks off June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles — the very venue where Rush played the final show of their R40 farewell tour in 2015 — bringing the band's journey full circle.

"It's been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil," Lee said. "After all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it. It's time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music.

"So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of Rush songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable."

In Peart's place behind the kit will be Anika Nilles, the German drummer, composer, and producer known for her work with Jeff Beck and a string of acclaimed solo albums. Her inclusion signals a new chapter for Rush — one built on reverence, not replacement.

"We have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story," Lee continued. "Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated Rush fanbase."

Lee also hinted that additional musicians could join the live lineup to expand the band's sound and "free up Alex and I to show off some of our new fancy dance steps."

Peart's widow Carrie Nuttall-Peart and daughter Olivia Peart have given the tour their full blessing, emphasizing that the performances are meant to celebrate, not replace, Neil's towering musical and lyrical legacy.

"Neil's musicianship was singular," they said in a joint statement. "Compositions of intricacy and power that expanded what rhythm itself could express. He profoundly shaped how fans connected with him and the band, giving voice and meaning to their own lives."

The Fifty Something tour will feature multi-night stands in seven cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, with each performance consisting of two full sets spanning 35 songs from across Rush's storied career — from prog-epics like 2112 to the sleek precision of Moving Pictures and beyond. Presales begin October 13 in North America and October 16 in Mexico, with general onsale starting October 17.
