Ryan Coogler’s X-Files Reboot Casts Himesh Patel to Investigate the Unexplained

Has The X-Files found the Mulder to Danielle Deadwyler’s Scully, or the Scully to Danielle Deadwyler’s Mulder? Either way, Himesh Patel has been cast as the co-lead of Ryan Coogler’s upcoming reboot of the classic sci-fi series, which is currently in development at Hulu.

Patel’s impressive range of credits include starring in Danny Boyle’s Yesterday, the acclaimed HBO Max limited series Station Eleven, and the Armando Iannucci comedy The Franchise. He’ll play, according to the logline, one of “two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents,” who “form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.”
