Sabrina Carpenter previewed her upcoming headlining set at Coachella in a new interview, saying the performance is “the most ambitious show I’ve ever done.”
Discussing the set with Marc Jacobs for Perfect˙, Carpenter revealed that preparation began about seven months ago, which was particularly early for her. “Most of the time, you’re really quickly thrust into physical rehearsals,” she said, “but this time around we started this process around seven months ago. So it’s been a long journey. It will be very special.”

The performance carries extra weight given its setting: Carpenter first played Coachella two years ago at the sunset slot on the main stage on April 11th, the same day her breakthrough hit “Espresso” was released. “I got to play that for the first time at Coachella,” she reflected. “And now, two years later, we’re back. And I think that’s what makes this show feel really, really surreal: getting to celebrate all the songs that have come after it, and just how many lives they’ve lived since they’ve come out.”
Throughout her chat with Jacobs, Carpenter also discussed her love of fashion and photography, how her 2024-2025 “Short ‘n Sweet Tour” changed her life, and why ABBA’s virtual concert “Voyage” was one of her favorite concert experiences ever. She also mentioned how inspired she’s been by the American figure skater Alysa Liu: “She gives me hope,” Carpenter said, “I’ve felt so inspired by hearing her speak. I think there’s people like that who just feel so articulate, so self-assured and aren’t looking at so many eyes on them as a reason to play it safe but really a reason to just be exactly who they are. She’s a perfect example of that.”
Carpenter will take the stage for her headlining slot at Coachella on Friday, April 10th, and Friday, April 17th. As of this writing, the festival is Carpenter’s only scheduled performance for the rest of the year. Last-minute Coachella tickets are still available; grab ’em here.
Elsewhere in Sabrina Carpenter news, she unveiled the music video for Man’s Best Friend single “House Tour” on Monday; the visual features a Bling Ring-influenced story and stars Carpenter, Margaret Qualley, and Madelyn Cline.
