Fans of the new series of The Traitors have developed a theory on who they believe The Secret Traitor is, based on a clue from a previous episode.
The BBC show has returned for its fourth series on New Year’s Day, with a shocking new twist. This series will feature a Secret Traitor, whose identity is unknown to the audience and who will have jurisdiction over the three regular Traitors – Hugo, Rachel, and Stephen.
Following Hugo’s banishment on the January 3 episode, it was revealed that the Secret Traitor would become a regular Traitor, and reveal themselves to Rachel and Stephen on the next episode, airing January 7.
Fans have been debating as to who the mystery Traitor could be, but one eagle-eyes social media user spotted a clue. On X (formerly Twitter), the fan posted a screenshot of the set and asked: “Why are the three traitors pictured on the wall…..with Harriet.”

The implication that Harriet may be the Secret Traitor is particularly compelling, given that she was the contestant who brought the case against Hugo on the January 3 episode which led to his banishment.
“Can’t stop thinking about Harriet as the Secret Traitor now” one fan posted. “She could really have played it perfectly getting rid of the fellow barrister and cementing her position as a Faithful to the group so early in the game. She made Hugo her prime target.”

Another wrote: “secret traitor has to be Harriet – it’s glaringly obvious. She engineered the perfect ‘faithful’ moment by taking out a traitor and putting her neck on the line… except there was zero risk. She knew Hugo was a traitor. Well played.”
