"pieces" arrives as the group's first new music of 2026, showcasing the more expansive elements of the upcoming six-track EP as they experiment with synths, distortion, and hushed vocals, following their 2025 debut it's nice to see you, stranger released last July.
Discussing the new track, the three-piece, comprised of Cameron Godrey (guitar, vocals), Carey Judwyn Rushton (bass, vocals) and Lewis O’Grady (drums), share: “The song is about changing yourself to fit other people’s expectations for so long that you’re not really sure who you are anymore,” the band explained of “pieces”.
Having supported the likes of Rocket, Humour, Westside Cowboy, Witch Post, and Man/Woman/Chainsaw, in addition to playing their own shows, thistle. have asserted their live presence over the past year. backflip, recorded in late 2025 at producer Macks Faulkron’s REX Studios, will arrive during a busy summer for thistle. as they return to the stage for a UK tour in support of the release, with festival appearances scheduled for Bearded Theory, 2000 Trees, and Brighton Psych Fest.
