Tori Amos announces release date for In Times of Dragons album, "a metaphorical story about the fight for democracy over tyranny"

1 month ago 9

The new collection of songs is described by the Amos as a metaphorical narrative "about the fight for Democracy over Tyranny, reflecting the current abhorrent non accidental burning down of democracy in real time.”

To support the record, Amos will embark on her most extensive live run in years, including a headline show at the Royal Albert Hall on 21 April – part of her largest on the continent for a decade. The setlists are expected to blend new material with selections from her 35-year career. Jump to the bottom for the full list of dates.

The announcement follows a Grammy nomination for the soundtrack to her children’s book, Tori and the Muses.

The album’s cover art was created using a vintage photographic technique, working with photographer Kasia Wozniak and using the RA-4 process, composing direct paper positives with a large-format camera. “Each photograph was slowly composed, photographed, and processed,” Wozniak said of the collaboration. “It felt magical to weave Tori’s work and vision with my own. We moved from photograph to photograph with an intuitive rhythm, aligned in every shot. The process became a kind of ritual.”
