Primus‘ Onward & Upward Tour is winding down, and one of the last few shows happened on Wednesday night (8/6) in Los Angeles, where they again paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne. Ty Segall, who has joined them as opener for much of the tour, this show included, took on lead vocals for a rendition of Black Sabbath’s “N.I.B.” Watch attendee-taken video of that below.
Primus also covered “N.I.B.” in New Orleans last month, with Puddles Pity Party handling vocals, and at their Bridgeport, CT show they worked partial covers of “Paranoid,” “Iron Man,” and “Crazy Train” into their set.
The Los Angeles show, meanwhile, also had Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor of Tool each join Primus onstage, and they weren’t the only special guests. Bill Burr played drums on “Too Many Puppies” (along with Chancellor on bass), and South Park co-creator Matt Stone played drums on a cover of King Crimson’s “Thela Hun Ginjeet.” Watch video of all of that, and see Wednesday night’s setlist below.
