Evanescence have announced a new album titled Sanctuary, their first album in five years. In advance of its June 5th release, singer Amy Lee and company have unveiled the lead single, “Who Will You Follow.”
The album news comes ahead of Evanescence’s previously announced 2026 world tour, which will kick with a North American leg in June featuring Spiritbox and Nova Twins (pick up tickets here). Before that Evanescence will play the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas on April 25th.
“Who Will You Follow” begins immediately with Lee’s instantly recognizable haunting vocals over her piano playing, but doesn’t wait too long for some heavy riffage leading up to the chorus: “What have you done to me/ You drain the life out of me till I don’t know myself/ When all your faith in reality fades away/ Who will you follow then.”
Sanctuary marks Evanescence sixth proper studio album overall, and the follow-up to 2021’s The Bitter Truth.
“This album is over three years in the making, and finally listening back to it all at once, about to release it to the world, I am so damn proud of every second of it,” stated Lee. “It’s overwhelming. Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection… good thing we have the tour all lined up or I wouldn’t know what to do with myself now! I’ve been completely obsessed. I’m dying for the fans to hear this.”
