Laura Misch has released "Kairos" and "Scrolls", the latest previews of her upcoming second album, Lithic.
The songs follow lead single "Echoes" released last month, and were recorded between an old slate quarry in Cornwall, and the Aegean sea on the island of hydra, and feature the Musical Stones of Skiddaw — a 180-year-old lithophone.
"Kairos" captures the album's core theme of time, and how the world is shaped slowly over time, expanding upon a collection of songs informed by geology to reflect sound as an ancient material that can change shape.
Lithic is released on 5 June via One Independent Records
