Metallica are taking over the Sphere this October for their “Life Burns Faster” residency.
The thrash metal legends will perform shows each weekend in October: the 1st and 3rd; 15th and 17th; 22nd and 24th; and 29th and 31st. Like the band’s ongoing “M72 World Tour,” the Sphere gigs will feature the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” format of playing a distinct set for each show on a given weekend.
How Can I Get Tickets to Metallica’s Sphere Residency?
Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 6th at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster, with a number of pre-sales taking place before then:
- A travel package pre-sale will begin this Friday, February 27th, at 2 p.m. ET for the general public
- The Metallica “Fifth Member” fan club pre-sale starts Monday, March 2nd, at 2 p.m. ET for the first three weekends of the residency and 4 p.m. ET for the final weekend
- A Ticketmaster artist pre-sale starts Tuesday, March 3rd, at 1 p.m. ET for the first three weekend and 3 p.m. ET for the final weekend

What Is Metallica’s Sphere Residency?
An eight-show run at the Sphere, spanning four “No Repeat Weekends,” which feature distinct setlists for the shows in each pairing. It will mark Metallica’s first shows at the Vegas Sphere, with the band joining the likes of U2 and the Eagles as musical acts that have performed there. Metallica’s current 360-degree stage design should also translate well to the spherical venue and its wrapover LED display with the highest resolution in the world.
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’” remarked drummer Lars Ulrich in Metallica’s press release for the shows. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

Yes, Metallica are slated to bring their ongoing “M72 Tour” to Europe and the UK in May and June, prior to the Vegas residency. The band will be joined by the support pairing of Gojira and Knocked Loose for 10 shows, with Pantera and Avatar supporting the remaining four dates on the European trek.
