Elton John has announced two farewell concerts taking place at Mexico City’s Estadio Banorte on October 2nd and 3rd.
The shows arrive three years after John concluded his final concert tour, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road.” Since 2023, John has performed one-off sets, private shows, and benefit concerts across the globe, but hasn’t announced a formal arena show since retiring from touring. Now, John will make his return to Mexico City for his first performance in the region in 14 years, this time billed as his “Farewell to Mexico.”
“Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart,” John said in a statement. “I was truly disappointed that the pandemic kept me from touring Latin America during my Farewell tour which makes this return especially meaningful. I’m thrilled to finally share this very special moment with my fans after all these years…”
Tickets for John’s pair of Mexico City shows will first be available via a Banorte Bank pre-sale for card members beginning on Monday, July 13 at 12:00 p.m. local time through Tuesday, July 14th at 11:59 p.m. local time. An artist pre-sale for members of John’s Rocket Club will follow on Wednesday, July 15th at 12:00 p.m. local time; Rocket Club members can register for tickets now over on John’s official website. Finally, tickets will go on sale for the general public on Thursday, July 16th at 12:00 p.m. local time here. VIP Packages are available; learn more over on John’s website.
Elton John may have retired from traditional concert tours, but he’s remained active throughout the last few years. His most recent album was Who Believes in Angels?, a 2025 collaborative LP with Brandi Carlile.
