Shortly before kickoff for the United States’ 2026 World Cup opening match against Paraguay, Katy Perry got things going with a performance of “Wonder” alongside 10-year-old Norwegian singer Tius Luka.

Dressed in a shimmering silver dress, Perry belted out the song with an equally shiny microphone in one hand and Luka’s hand in the other. A circle of various country flags surrounded the two, with Luka eventually delivering the tune’s final lines. Watch the performance below.

“Wonder” serves as the closing track to Perry’s most recent album, 143. Luka’s vocals, which he recorded in 2021 at just five years old, appear on the recorded version as well.

“I heard his vocal in 2023 and was inspired to write the verses for ‘Wonder’ and added it to my sixth album,” Perry wrote in a post ahead of her World Cup appearance. “Tius is 10 now and flew all the way to LA from Norway to sing this song with me on Friday at the World Cup.”

Additional performances from the night included Future, Lisa of BLACKPINK, Bangladeshi-American DJ Sanjoy, and Paraguayan singer Marilina Bogado.
