Danalogue is Dan Leavers, the London-based synth player known for his time in the cosmic experimental jazz band The Comet Is Coming and as one half of the electronic psych jazz duo Soccer96. He's just announced his debut solo album Teleportations, set for release at the end of May, and shared its lead single "Far Beyond The Sun."
It's not an Yngwie Malmsteen cover. Instead, this "Far Beyond The Sun" is an ambient synth adventure full of squealing melodies and dreamy vibes. Leavers provided a list of inspirations including Joe Meek, Wendy Carlos, Isao Tomita, Laurie Spiegel, Mort Garson, Terry Riley, and '70s kosmische groups like Harmonia and Kluster. But in terms of modern reference points, I can imagine something like this coming together if Tame Impala produced for Thundercat.
It's an immersive environment, and you can immerse yourself in it below.
